is the simple story of a rural teacher in an unnamed southern school trying to reach a problem child. Just when the teacher and child make progress, tragedy strikes: the boy’s sister dies of viral pneumonia. Embittered and rebellious, the boy gets into fights. But when a swarm of bees invades the classroom and panics the students, the boy takes charge, captures the queen bee and leads the swarm outside.

The land-baron uses gunslingers to drive away the homesteader, who stands his ground. The baron eventually backs off, but his second-in-command will stop at nothing to acquire the well.

is about a bumbling photographer’s assistant who wants to impress a small-time actress by putting her picture on the cover of Look magazine. Exaggerating his journalistic importance, the assistant uses photo shoots as an excuse to spend time with the actress. Eventually exposed as a fraud, the assistant abandons his job, hides in Central Park, then one day sees the actress’ picture on the cover of Look magazine.

shows how Major Walter Reed and the US Army Medical Corps used volunteer soldiers as guinea pigs to determine the cause and treatment for a disease called Yellow Jack. Set in turn-of-the-century Cuba, the doctors study a Cuban physician’s much-ridiculed theory that infected mosquitoes spread the disease. The drama focuses on soldiers who volunteer to be bitten and infected with the deadly disease, for which at that time there was no known cure.

is about the WWII, all-Japanese-American fighting unit that became the most decorated for its size in US Army history. Assigned to train and lead the unit, a bigoted lieutenant from Texas harshly micromanages his men, who cover for his misdeeds. The unit eventually saves the “Lost Battalion,” Texas soldiers surrounded and outnumbered by the Germany army.
