Namu The Whale shows the relationship between a marine biologist and an orca whale, who is wounded by fisherman and left to die in a shallow cove. The biologist both nurses and studies the whale called Namu. The biologist soon realizes the whale is not a fearsome killer, but a lonely animal needing companionship. But local salmon fisherman think Namu threatens their livelihood, and one hothead sets out to kill the whale.
